TMR Moved For Alzheimer's on June 2nd 2018
On June 2nd, Mohawk Park was filled with tennis players, fitness lovers, kids and families moving for Alzheimer’s research! In collaboration with TMR, Équipe Bardagi, CDN Printing and others, we organized TMR Moves For A Cure - a day-long fitness fundraiser that successfully raised $4,112 for Alzheimer’s research!
It was a beautifully sunny day where residents of all ages enjoyed various activities. Tennis lovers got to compete in a friendly tournament supported by Tenniszon and Tennis Canada, with the winners receiving Rogers Cup tickets in August! At the same time, others got their fitness on by doing yoga, zumba, bootcamp, and HIIT, then they got to cool off with Flow’s delicious flavored water. While the adults were busy working up a sweat, the kids got to enjoy Everblast’s super fun sports games, yoga and zumba, as well as face painting and tattoos to show off! The fuel for the day filling Andalos sandwiches and snacks, and awesome raffle prizes were won including L’Oréal gift bags, two photoshoot sessions by Marcie Richstone Photography and gift cards from Copper Branch. SmoothiesGo was also on-site providing energizing tasters, while FreeYumm provided kids allergy-free cookies and Evolve Toys gave out countless gift cards to their e-store for smart games! Did we mention participants also enjoyed KIND snack bars and everyone received rebates off Polar Bear’s Club?!
A big shout out goes out to our fitness instructors who volunteered their time to offer the awesome group classes for the day! Alexandra Lavoie, Mélanie Primeau and Maya Chammas, this would not have been possible without their endless energy and enthusiasm!
Keep an eye out for TMR Moves For A Cure again next year, you don’t want to miss it!!
